Brockington Hall

This lovely house was built in 1882 for Julius LeHardy, M.D., a pioneering researcher and author in the study of yellow fever and the treatment modality of quarantine. The facade was altered shortly thereafter with addition of the “first known to the region” use of terrazzo and of Chinese Chippendale- style wrought iron.  The architect for the alteration is believed to have been Detlef Lienau, and it is the Chinese Chippendale-style iron railing that is echoed in our “BH” monogram and in our website banner.
