The Details
The approximately 4,000-square-foot parlor floor includes nine rooms and three-and-a-half baths, connected by a central hallway and accessible from the front entrance and elevator.
The central hallway runs the length of the house, opening into the drawing room, dining room, three east-side sitting rooms, and grand ballroom.
Crystal chandeliers and matching wall sconces, red Bokhara rugs, an ebonized side table with mother-of-pearl and brass inlay, a mahogany blanket chest, and a large ornamental mirror add to the character of the space.
The drawing room features a large crystal chandelier, French Aubusson rug, baby grand piano, crystal candelabra on the marble mantel, ornamental tables and chairs, and a damask-covered camel-back sofa.
A large archway connects the drawing room to the dining room, with pocket doors allowing the rooms to be separated when desired.
The dining room features a grand crystal chandelier, matching wall sconces, a French Aubusson rug, marble mantel, fine porcelains, dining table, sideboard, and serving table.
The room connects to the drawing room, library, and central hallway and sits adjacent to the elevator and kitchen. An adjoining powder room provides additional convenience.
The library features floor-to-ceiling bookshelves stocked with historic tales of the South.
Positioned between the dining room and ballroom, the library also works particularly well as a bar or service area during gatherings.
The central hallway opens into the grand ballroom through a columned arch with side railings.
Two grand crystal chandeliers and matching wall sconces define the room, while an English antique door with an etched glass panel provides the rear entrance and fire exit. The ballroom also has a separate entrance from the library.
Two sitting rooms provide additional character and flexibility throughout the parlor floor.
The rooms feature crystal chandeliers and sconces, marble and ebonized mantels, French trumeau details, Bokhara rugs, Moroccan brass pieces, camel-back sofas, mirrored closets, and adjoining bathrooms.
